This first block-and-a-half of Sunnyside Gardens was a microcosm of the larger plan: Rowhouses and three apartment buildings (their private gardens shown in light green) surround shared formal gardens and the neighborhood's first playground (in dark green), all linked by common walkways through the blocks. Reproduced from Clarence Stein, Toward New Towns for America (first edition, 1951); originally from a City Housing Corporation sales brochure.
